About BinderLoot

What is BinderLoot?
BinderLoot is a free collection tracker for Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon cards. You record the cards you own, sort them into binders and boxes, build decks and keep a wishlist. It runs in the web browser, and you can install it as an app on a phone or a computer. Read how BinderLoot compares with other apps
Is there a free app to track a Magic: The Gathering collection?
Yes. BinderLoot tracks a Magic collection for free, with no ads. The catalogue lists every printing from Scryfall, and a card page shows the TCGplayer reference price of each finish when Scryfall publishes one. BinderLoot imports the CSV export of ManaBox, Moxfield, Archidekt, Deckbox, TCGplayer, Helvault, MTGGoldfish, Dragon Shield, TCG Collector and TopDecked. The deck wizard reads your collection and suggests decks that you can build from the cards you own. Read the import guides
Is there a free app to track a Pokémon card collection?
Yes. BinderLoot tracks Pokémon cards for free, with no ads. The catalogue comes from TCGdex, in English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai and Indonesian. A card page shows the TCGplayer reference price when TCGdex publishes one. Each set page shows how many of its cards you own. A TCG Collector export imports with a CSV file. Read the TCG Collector import guide

Your collection

How do I add a card?
Find the card with the search box at the top of any page, and open it. On the card page, choose the Collection tab, then "Add to collection". You can also scan a card, or add many cards at a time from a set page.
What does BinderLoot record about a copy?
The printing, the quantity, the finish (nonfoil, foil or etched), the condition, the signed and altered marks, and a private note. Copies that match on all of these share one row.
Can I record the language of a copy?
Yes, for Pokémon cards. The Pokémon catalogue lists each card in its own language: English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Korean, Thai and Indonesian. Pick the language at the top of the Pokémon sets list, open a set, then add the printing in the language of your copy. A TCG Collector import reads the language from the TCG region of each row. Your BinderLoot export names the language of each card, and an import of that file keeps it. A Magic printing has no language choice.
How do I tag my copies?
On the card page, edit your copies and type a tag, for example "for trade". Then filter your collection by that tag. "For Trade" and "for trade" are the same tag.
How do I see how much of a set I own?
Open the set in the catalogue. The set page shows how many of its cards you own, with a progress bar, and how many of each rarity you own. Choose "Cards I need" to see only the cards of the set that you do not own yet. A Pokémon set also shows the base set apart from the secret rares and other cards numbered past the printed count. The list of sets shows the cards you own over the cards in the set, for example 80/100, and the percentage. For a Pokémon set, or a Magic set with Commander decks, promos or other related sets, open the series link under the set name. The series page shows the same counts for every set of the series, and lists the cards you need by rarity. Select cards on the series page to add them all at once.
Does BinderLoot show card prices?
Yes. The card page shows a reference price for each finish, in US dollars. It is the TCGplayer market price that Scryfall publishes for Magic and TCGdex publishes for Pokémon. It is an estimate, not an offer, and it does not change with the condition of your copy. Your collection page shows the estimated value of your whole collection and of each card, and only you see it. Sort by "Highest value" to see your most valuable cards first.
How does the card scan work?
Open search and choose "Scan a card". Hold the card inside the frame. The camera takes the photograph when the card holds still. Then choose the printing that you own.

Import and export

How do I bring my collection from another app?
Export a CSV file from the app you use today. Then upload the file on the import page of your collection. BinderLoot reads the CSV export of ManaBox, Moxfield, Archidekt, Deckbox, TCGplayer, Helvault, MTGGoldfish, Dragon Shield, TCG Collector and TopDecked. The guide of each app gives the export steps. Read the import guides
Does an import change my collection at once?
No. BinderLoot reads the file first and shows every row that it matched. Your collection changes only when you choose "Apply to collection". An import adds its quantities one time only. A row that BinderLoot cannot match is skipped, and the review page lists it with the reason.
What happens when I upload an updated file again?
By default, an import adds every row to your collection, so a card that you already own gets more copies. To add only the new cards, choose "Skip cards I already own" before you choose "Apply to collection". BinderLoot then skips every row for a card that you already have in the same finish, and the review page lists each skipped row. A holo or foil copy of a card that you have only as normal still adds. A new quantity for a card that you already own is not applied.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Export your collection, one binder or your wishlist as a CSV file. The collection export includes your tags.

Storage, decks and wishlist

What is a binder in BinderLoot?
A binder is a copy of a physical binder. Choose one, four, nine or twelve pockets for each page. Then put your copies in the pockets and arrange the pages.
Can I record the cards I keep in a box?
Yes. Open Storage and choose "Create storage", then choose Box. A box has no pages. You can give it a capacity, for example 800, and the box shows how full it is. One copy sits in one binder or box at a time. To move copies, open the binder or box and choose Move on the card.
Can a deck include cards that I do not own?
Not yet. You can add a printing to a deck only when you own a copy of it. If you remove your last copy of a printing, BinderLoot removes it from your decks.
Does BinderLoot tell me if my deck is legal?
Yes. Choose a format for the deck: Standard, Pioneer, Modern, Legacy, Vintage or Commander. The Analysis tab of the deck shows a format report. The report is advice, and the judge at your table decides.
What is the wishlist?
The wishlist holds the cards you want. Save any printing of a card, or one exact printing. On the card page, choose the Wishlist tab.

Account and privacy

Can other people see my collection?
Not by default. Your profile is private until you turn on "Share my profile" in Settings, under Profile. Then you choose which parts it shows: collection, storage, decks and wishlist.
Can I change my username?
Yes. Change the "Profile address" in Settings, under Profile. Your username is that address.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings, then Profile, and choose "Delete account". BinderLoot removes the account and your library data. Read the privacy policy
Does BinderLoot show ads or track me?
No. BinderLoot shows no advertising and uses no cross-site trackers. The page counts use no cookies. Read the privacy policy
